Celebrate your body!

Spread the love

A perfect dress for every body

One of the best days of your life has arrived, the love of your life has finally proposed to you. Now it’s time to organize and plan your wedding. The best part about this, is ofcourse, choosing your wedding dress.

But what if you don’t look like the standard models? You have more curves, and you are not as slim as the models you see everywhere. Or your sizes are much smaller than the standard. Choosing your perfect wedding dress can be quite difficult in this case.

We believe there is a perfect wedding dress for everyone. Our collections are designed for everyone, no matter what your body looks like. We want to show every woman, that she is beautiful. Next to our Moonstar collection, we have developed the unique Royalstar collection for women with more curves. So everyone can shine!

Body positive

Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, all Social Media is full of perfect pictures. This is just not a realistic image. To change this, the ‘body positivity’ movement has taken action. The movement originates from the 1960’s, it was set up by Jewish women and women of color. In our opinion, body positivity means accepting and loving your own body. Positive thinking about the body of yourself and of another’s. The essence is not only that you love your figure, but that you accept all things about yourself. Think of your skin color, acne, striae and gender.

Get inspired

Of course, you cannot fully accept your body from one day to the next. There are several people, podcasts and books that can inspire you. Well-known body positivity gurus on Instagram are for example @meganjaynecrabbe @itsmekellieb and @tesselholiday. One of the most famous body postivity books is Beyond beautiful by Anuchka Rees. As she says herself, “a self-confidence bible that every woman should read”. Do you prefer to listen? Ashley Graham is a woman who stands for body positivity and regularly gives speeches about this.

What means body positivity for you?

Some of our models share their view of body positivity, and what this means for them.

Sukie Dakota: “Body positivity means loving your body even on days when you are less comfortable with yourself. Be kind to yourself and embrace yourself as you are because your body is also kind to you, so you can be kind to your body too”.

Nathalie: “Body positivity means to me not comparing yourself with others, but getting your own strength from within yourself. It doesn’t matter what your body looks like. Everyone with confidence looks awesome”.

Nathalie & Sukie Dakota

Illanga: “Body positivity is you, because your body is positive, your body is beautiful and your body can be anything you want it to be. As long as you love the skin you are in. Body positivity is acceptance, is encouragement and pride. Body positivity is loving yourself first. Every version of your body”.

Annelot:

“To me, body positivity means that you place zero value on what your own, or someone else’s body looks like. Every body deserves respect and has value, regardless of color, shape or health. Every body deserves to be taken into account. Body positivity means for me: Getting away from dietary culture. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all in favor of taking care of yourself and doing your best to look nice; however, the number of kilos or fat bubbles, or (not) wearing ‘fluttering’ clothes, doesn’t make you a better or worse person at all”.
